7 WAYS TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR “AFCON” 2016 EXPERIENCE
The female African cup of nations to be hosted this November, in Cameroon is an event that will bring together people from all walks of life and ethnicity. The cities of Limbe, Douala, and Yaounde will in particular during this period be at its peak in tourism and commerce.
Hotels, restaurants, shops and petty traders are in for a business height this year. Cameroon is in for a change and development. Now the tick of the matter for me is not Cameroon per se. I want you, the visitors, to be able to get the most out of your AFCON experience. From lodging to safety, then fun and entertainment. Here are some basic seven tips that could make a world of difference.
· - Pre planning: Make hotel reservations ahead of time. It’s not just any trip, it’s a trip spurred by an event, and so, many others are also on the roll. To avoid disappointment and uncomfortable lodging arrangements you have to make arrangements ahead of time. There are several hotels that have good offers this season. For more info on that check this site, www.xania-ec.com.
· - Have a camera at hand: it doesn’t have to be complex camera, something small, which can be easily carried around. Take pictures, make memories and create stories out of your trip.
· - Eat local food: most at times looking for restaurants that serve “western” dishes proves to be costly, and sometimes not up to standards. Local meals are delicious and would cost less. Besides broaden your experience by trying some exotic African dishes, it will spice up your life. There are so many great restaurants offering superbly cooked local dishes, and while at it, try some clean roadside food.
· - Catch fun: Yes sure there will be the games, and all sorts of cultural activities surrounding it, but I want you to have some good outside fun. Entertaining nightlife activities are a great way to close off your evenings and add fun to your trip. Great cabarets with local music for relaxation, or maybe for a more upbeat evening, a vibrant nightclub.
· -Make friends: It might be a local or a fellow tourist like yourself. One of the best ways to find happiness is by sharing with someone. Meet someone, make a connection, share activities, and trust me this will be more fun than going solo. Let your journey be a shared experience, look through the eyes of your heart and the CAN will be unforgettable for you.
· -Last not the least, please do get some insect repellent… Mosquitoes are mankind’s worst enemies. Okay, seriously though, you need to find a way to combat this little vampires. Use mosquito net, proper clothing, sprays and repellent will come in handy. Don’t be fooled by their apparent small sizes, their bites pack a punch.
The female AFCON games would be an adventure for you if you make a choice to catch fun. in Cameroon we promote fun. See you this November…
